AND
Part of any celebration of Purim should be some giving - and getting - of mishlaokh manot, treats and sometimes small coins that the Megillah of Esther asks us to give to friends. We have a chance this year - on March 4 at 5 pm - to join members of the newly forming Prospect Heights Shul and its rabbi, Aaron Finkelstein, in packing mishloakh manot and delivering it to patients at Methodist Hospital. Please read below and sign up; what a great mitzvah! -- Rabbi Ellen Lippmann
Join us in packing and wrapping Purim gift baskets for Methodist patients. On this holiday of reversal, help patients forget hospital food and remember days of celebration! We’ll hand-deliver the packages to the hospital, decked out in costume, on Purim day. To join the packing party, or bring one of the suggested food/gift items, sign up here. This event will be performed in conjunction with other neighborhood synagogues. People can sign up here and volunteer to bring something.
- Pack and Wrap - Sunday March 4th, 5:00-6:30 pm Location TBD
- Deliver - Thursday morning, March 8 (after services) , Methodist Hospital, Must be over 18 to participate
