Shulamith Firestone

So many people have been mourning the death last week of feminist writer and thinker Shulamith Firestone, whose life you can read about in this New York Times obituary.

She was the sister of my colleague and friend Rabbi Tirzah Firestone, and Tirzah has given me permission to send you this piece that she wrote after the funeral, which in her words was "raw, sad, but also redemptive."
