TORAH ON FIRE:  Using gesture, personal storytelling and text study,  in this class we will explore  a prayer (6/16)  and a Torah portion, Chukkat (6/23), finding the essence of our text for each of us, then in hevruta we will tell each other stories from our own lives that capture those feelings.  Using a theater technique known as "House on Fire", we will refine each story until it becomes a theater piece that we can present to each other.  If the class want to, we will refine our work on the parsha and present our theatrical divrei Torah on Shabbat on June 30.  Taught by Trisha Arlin, who has given this class at the Drisha Institute and at last year's Kolot's Tikkun Leil Shavuot.  Attendance at both classes is recommended but not required.  Free for members, $60 for non-members.  Bring check payable to Kolot Chayeinu to first session.

TIKKUN LEIL SHAVUOT

Saturday night, May 26, 10 pm to 1 am:  Tikkun Leil Shavuot, a late night of study as we prepare to receive Torah at Sinai.  Weather permitting, we will learn together on a hilltop in Prospect Park.   Many teachers, many ways to learn.  Free for all.
