You're invited to our Fourth Annual LGBTQI Erev Rosh Hashana Dinner!
Go here for details.
Diversity is a hallmark of the Kolot Chayeinu community. We are proud to be a community comprising individuals of varying Jewish traditions, sexual orientations, races, and family arrangements. --from the Kolot Chayeinu Statement of Values
Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Transgender People, and Queers are proud members of Kolot Chayeinu. Our synagogue brings our identities--LGBTQ and Jews--together in a supportive, spiritual community.
We regularly come together in an annual Erev Rosh haShanah dinner, to celebrate one another's life events and to host a booth at the Brooklyn Pride Fair.
However, our community is diverse and includes many LGBT individuals and families, and as such we do not always want or need explicitly LGBT programming as a part of our congregational life. However, when LGBT events occur in the community, we strive to always be a presence and connect to the larger LGBT community. On this page, as it grows, you will find information about Kolot's participation in any upcoming LGBT-related events, as well as photos and personal responses from our congregants from past events.

Rabbi Lippmann's Talk at the Intefaith Service
Rabbi Lippmann gave a talk at the Interfaith Service that kicked off LGBT Pride Week 2012 in Brooklyn. Says the rabbi,
"I was one of three clergy-women speaking at the June 4 Interfaith Pride service, kicking off a week of LGBT Pride activities in Brooklyn. This was my talk, preceded and followed by songs sung by Cantor Lisa B. Segal. Lots of wonderful words, lots of beautiful music, lots of fascinating approaches to 'pride.'
Let me know what you think of my words."
